Description: Manages NetFlow traffic export configuration and statistics for Cisco LWAPP-based wireless LAN controllers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-LWAPP-NETFLOW-MIB?
CISCO-LWAPP-NETFLOW-MIB is a Cisco enterprise MIB for configuring and monitoring NetFlow traffic-export functionality on Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) that use the LWAPP (Lightweight Access Point Protocol) architecture. It exposes NetFlow monitor and exporter configuration tables -- monitor name, record name, and row status, plus exporter name, destination IP address/type, destination port, and row status -- defining how the WLC exports flow-template and traffic data to a NetFlow collector. It is used to monitor the software-level configuration and operational status of the WLC's NetFlow export feature -- confirming which monitors and exporters are configured and active via row status -- rather than hardware health, supporting traffic-visibility and analytics use cases. It builds on general NetFlow architecture conventions (collector/exporter/template model) common across Cisco's NetFlow-related MIBs. It is typically deployed on Cisco wireless LAN controllers in enterprise Wi-Fi networks where administrators want IP traffic visibility for wireless client traffic exported to a NetFlow collector. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-LWAPP-NETFLOW-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LWAPP-NETFLOW-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) using LWAPP
Monitoring Examples
An admin could check cLNetflowMonitorTable/cLNetflowMonitorEntry for a given cLNetflowMonitorName's cLNetflowMonitorRecordName and cLNetflowMonitorRowStatus to confirm a flow monitor is active, then verify the paired cLNetflowExporterTable entry's cLNetflowExporterIPAddress, cLNetflowExporterIPAddressType, and cLNetflowExporterPortNumber match the intended collector. If wireless traffic analytics stop appearing at the collector, checking cLNetflowExporterRowStatus for an unexpected non-active state would reveal that the exporter was disabled or misconfigured.
What Can Be Monitored
- NetFlow monitor configuration
- NetFlow monitor row status
- NetFlow exporter destination IP address
- NetFlow exporter destination port
- NetFlow exporter row status
