Category: Cisco Devices, SNA and Legacy Protocols, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares agent capability for the Cisco ITP global signaling point MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ITP-GSP-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-ITP-GSP-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the CISCO-ITP-GSP-MIB a particular Cisco agent implementation supports, in the context of Cisco's Internet Transfer Point (ITP) SS7-over-IP signaling gateway products. It does not itself expose runtime monitoring data; rather it documents conformance to the companion GSP (Global Signaling Point) MIB used for SS7 signaling point management. As a capabilities module it has no hardware/software status objects of its own, though the underlying CISCO-ITP-GSP-MIB it describes would expose signaling point and link status. It depends entirely on the CISCO-ITP-GSP-MIB it is capabilities-mapping for. It is used internally by network management systems to determine feature support before polling the real MIB on Cisco ITP signaling gateways. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-ITP-GSP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-GSP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco ITP (Internet Transfer Point) SS7 signaling gateway

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; sample_objects is empty confirming it defines no tables or scalars of its own. Network management tools would parse this module only to determine which OIDs of CISCO-ITP-GSP-MIB are actually implemented on a given device.
