Category: Cisco Devices, Quality of Service, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares agent capability for Integrated Services (IntServ/RSVP) QoS MIB on Cisco devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-INT-SERV-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-INT-SERV-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module for the standard INT-SERV-MIB, which covers Integrated Services/RSVP-based QoS reservation. It belongs to the QoS/traffic-engineering technology area and, like other capability modules, defines no managed objects of its own. It is not used to monitor hardware or software status directly -- it exists solely to declare which INT-SERV-MIB groups a Cisco agent implementation supports. It is wholly dependent on the standard IETF INT-SERV-MIB it profiles. It is consulted by NMS platforms during MIB capability negotiation rather than polled for operational monitoring. Engineers can download the CISCO-INT-SERV-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-INT-SERV-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco routers supporting IntServ/RSVP QoS

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects -- it only declares support for groups in the standard INT-SERV-MIB, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe.
