Description: Defines SNMP agent capability statements for the Cisco Digital Media Systems MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which portions of the companion CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-MIB a particular agent implementation supports. It contains no runtime data objects of its own — it is a conformance/compliance statement, not a source of polled operational data. Consequently it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; its function is limited to informing management stations which digital-media-system features (e.g., signage player status, media library, playback state, if defined in the referenced data MIB) are actually implemented by a given agent version. It is explicitly and entirely dependent on the CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-MIB it describes. It applies to Cisco Digital Media Player/Digital Signage systems within a Cisco digital media/signage deployment. Engineers can download the CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Digital Media Player/Digital Signage system

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance-only AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no sample objects and no runtime data, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its sole function is to state, per agent release, which groups of the CISCO-DIGITAL-MEDIA-SYSTEMS-MIB are supported, for use by NMS tools deciding which OIDs are safe to poll.
