What Is CISCO-GSLB-TC-MIB?

CISCO-GSLB-TC-MIB is a Cisco support MIB defining Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITIES used by the CISCO-GSLB-SYSTEM-MIB, CISCO-GSLB-DNS-MIB, and CISCO-GSLB-HEALTH-MON-MIB modules that together manage Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) devices. It contains no runtime data objects itself, instead defining shared data types and acronym-based conventions (such as Content Routing Agent/CRA concepts) used across the GSLB MIB family. Because it holds no data, it does not itself report hardware/software status; that is the role of the three GSLB MIBs that depend on it, which cover system state, DNS-based routing, and health monitoring of load-balanced sites. Those three sibling MIBs explicitly depend on this module for consistent type definitions, and a CISCO-GSLB-TC-MIB download is typically obtained alongside those three dependent GSLB MIBs, since this module alone defines no pollable objects. It is used in multi-site data center deployments where Cisco GSLB devices distribute traffic across geographically distributed sites based on DNS and health checks.

Keepalive : A keepalive is an interaction between GSLB device and another device using a commonly supported protocol. It is used to periodically check if a resource is still active. DNS race : It is a method of resolving the proximity of the CRAs from the D-Proxy. In this method the GSLB device sends a request to all the CRAs directing them to respond to the D-Proxy at at the same time. The first response received by the D-proxy is, by default, considered to be the most proximate.
