Description: Provides management objects for geographic redundancy and failover of the Cisco GGSN (GPRS Gateway Support Node) in mobile core networks.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-GGSN-GEO-MIB?
CISCO-GGSN-GEO-MIB is a Cisco Systems, Inc. proprietary MIB providing per-OSPF-process geographic-redundancy information for a GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node), independent of the standard OSPF MIB's object model. Its passive-interface table, keyed by process number, records the standby interface name, whether that interface is currently on standby, VRF-enabled flag, and row status. As a status/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which interface is the geographic-redundancy standby for a given OSPF process on a Cisco GGSN. It is deployed on Cisco Systems GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node) equipment (geographic redundancy). Engineers can download the CISCO-GGSN-GEO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-GGSN-GEO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Systems GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node) equipment (geographic redundancy)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks cggsnGeoPassiveIfOnStdby to confirm which OSPF passive interface is currently in standby role for geographic redundancy on a Cisco GGSN.
What Can Be Monitored
- OSPF passive-interface geographic-redundancy standby state
