CISCO-DS0-CROSS-CONNECT-MIB manages DS0 (64 kbps) time-slot cross-connect configuration on Cisco voice gateways and digital cross-connect systems, letting an administrator define which DS0 channel on one DS1 endpoint is switched to which DS0 channel on another. It exposes a cross-connect configuration table describing the two endpoints of each connection (DS1 and DS0 group references) and a row-status object used to create, modify, or delete connections. Its role in monitoring is primarily configuration-state verification: cds0ConnRowStatus reveals whether a given cross-connection is active, not-in-service, or in an error state, which is critical for confirming that TDM voice/data circuits are actually switched as configured rather than a hardware/software configuration mismatch.
