What Is CISCO-DMN-DSG-Cueing-MIB?

CISCO-DMN-DSG-Cueing-MIB is a Cisco vendor-specific MIB (part of the CISCO-DMN-DSG-ROOT-MIB family used on Cisco's Digital Media/DSG headend and satellite transport gear) that models board-level 'cueing' functionality - the generation of trigger tones and relay contact closures used to signal downstream ad-insertion or program-switching equipment. It exposes scalar controls such as cueingMode (trigger vs. tone), cueingTrigPol (polarity), cueingRepeatCnt, cueingTone/cueingSilence durations in milliseconds, and cueingRelayMode/cueingRelayTrigBit for driving an alarm or trigger relay, plus cueingTestToneStartStop/cueingTestToneGo for manually exercising the cueing hardware. A 16-row cueingToneSeqTable lets an operator configure multiple named tone sequences (cueingToneSeqState, cueingToneSeqTones, cueingToneSeqMode, cueingToneSeqDelay) for different cueing scenarios. Rather than parsing or exposing SCTE-35 cue messages directly, this MIB is closer to a legacy tone/relay cueing interface deployed on Cisco DMN cable/satellite headend boards, and engineers can pull the CISCO-DMN-DSG-Cueing-MIB download when instrumenting that equipment.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DMN-DSG-Cueing-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco DMN (Digital Media Network) DSG headend/satellite transport boards, e.g. D9800-series gateways

Monitoring Examples

An operator reads cueingMode and cueingRelayMode to confirm a headend board is configured for trigger-based relay cueing rather than tone cueing, then checks cueingToneSeqState across cueingToneSeqTable rows; a sequence stuck in disable(1) when it should be driving an ad-insertion trigger indicates a misconfigured or inactive cueing sequence.

What Can Be Monitored

  • cueing mode and trigger polarity configuration
  • tone/silence duration settings
  • relay mode and trigger bit assignment
  • tone sequence table state and timing
  • test tone start/stop/go control status
