Description: This object specifies the maximum amount of time MG will wait for receipt of the idle signal on the line. For T1 interfaces idle signal corresponds to on-hook pattern on line. For E1 interfaces idle signal corresponds to idle pattern on line. The value of 0 indicates the timer will not be started and MG would wait forever.

What is ccasLSTIdleGuardTimer?

This sets the maximum time, in milliseconds, the media gateway will wait to see the idle line signal, on-hook pattern for T1, idle pattern for E1, before giving up, with 0 meaning it waits indefinitely. This timer specifically governs how long a channel can be stuck in limbo after a call teardown before the gateway declares a problem, so setting it to 0 on a trunk with occasional signaling glitches risks channels getting permanently stranded in a non-idle state, unable to accept new calls. With this timer set to 5000 ms on a T1 trunk, a channel that does not return to on-hook within 5 seconds of call teardown would be flagged, rather than the gateway waiting forever for a signal that may never arrive due to a stuck relay.
