Module: CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB::ccasLSTClearFwdTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.314.1.3.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the value of the timer that the GW will start at the request of the controlling application such as MGC for receipt of the clear forward signal on the line. This object is applied to R2 CAS.

What is ccasLSTClearFwdTimer?

This sets how long the gateway will wait, once instructed by its controlling application, the MGC, for the clear-forward signal to arrive on the line, specifically for R2 CAS trunks. The clear-forward signal is what tells the network a call is being torn down from the calling side, so this timer bounds how long a channel can sit waiting for that teardown confirmation before the gateway needs to take its own recovery action. If the MGC instructs teardown and this timer, say 30 seconds, expires without the expected clear-forward signal appearing on an R2 trunk, the gateway would need to escalate rather than leave the channel in limbo indefinitely.
