ccasLSTCASGlareTimer
Module: CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB::ccasLSTCASGlareTimer
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.314.1.3.3.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Gauge
Access: read-write
Description: This object specifies the maximum amount of time MG will wait for other end to back out when glare occurs on a DS0 line. Change in incoming off-hook signal to on-hook signal with-in this time frame indicates that other end has backed down.
What is ccasLSTCASGlareTimer?
This sets the maximum time the gateway will wait for the far end to back off after 'glare', both ends attempting to seize the same DS0 channel simultaneously, with an incoming signal transition from off-hook back to on-hook within this window read as the far end conceding. Glare is a specific, known race condition on shared bidirectional trunks, so this timer is the gateway's mechanism for resolving who wins a simultaneous seizure without both ends deadlocking on the same channel indefinitely. If both ends seize a channel at the same instant and the far end's signal reverts to on-hook within this timer's window, say 500 ms, the gateway treats the far end as having backed down and proceeds with its own call attempt.
