Module: CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB::ccasIfExtVoiceCfgContinuityTone2

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.314.1.1.1.1.5

Type: Gauge

Access: read-write

Description: The object specifies the second frequency tone to be sent between the terminating and the originating gateways in the continuity test.

What is ccasIfExtVoiceCfgContinuityTone2?

This sets the frequency, in Hz, of the second tone used in the same CAS continuity test as ccasIfExtVoiceCfgContinuityTone1, forming the two-tone pair the gateways exchange to confirm the voice path is live. Because continuity testing typically requires the two tones to be distinct and correctly paired per the country/trunk standard, an admin who copies configuration between gateways needs to set this value consistently with Tone1 or continuity checks will fail on live calls. For example, a gateway might pair Tone1 at 1780 Hz with Tone2 at 2010 Hz, and a call proceeds only if the far end loops back a tone matching this second frequency within the expected window.
