Module: CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-CAS-IF-EXT-MIB::ccasGCnfMGCTimer
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.314.1.6.1.1.28
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Gauge
Access: read-write
Description: This object specifies the timer in the GW waiting for the MGC to provide the rest of the information for CAS signaling. During overlap CAS signaling, for an outgoing call, the MGC might specify a part of the digits to be signaled out of the GW while it is waiting to collect the rest of the information that also needs to be signaled. In this case, if the GW has finished signaling all the available digits, it can start this timer to wait for the MGC to specify the rest of the information. The backward signal from the far end can also request for information that the MGC has not yet specified to the GW. In this case also, this timer is started to wait for the MGC to provide the information needed by the GW.
What is ccasGCnfMGCTimer?
This sets the timer the gateway starts, during overlap CAS signaling on an outgoing call, once it has finished signaling out all currently-available digits while still waiting for the MGC to supply the remaining digits. Overlap signaling means the gateway can start dialing before it has the complete number, so this timer is what bounds how long the gateway will pause mid-dial waiting on the MGC for more digits before treating the call as stalled, a scenario unique to overlap signaling versus complete-number dialing. If the MGC has not supplied the remaining digits of an outgoing number within this timer's window, for example 4 seconds, after the gateway exhausts what it has, the call setup would be considered stalled rather than left waiting indefinitely.
