This object reports the software package version staged in release partition 2 of this module, extending the same per-partition version tracking to a third storage slot present on some hardware. Having three partitions gives more flexibility for staged upgrades -- for example keeping two prior known-good releases available while testing a third -- and this field is how an admin confirms exactly what's sitting in that third slot. For example, partition 2 might hold an older, thoroughly field-proven release kept as a last-resort fallback distinct from the more recent release in partition 1.
