Description: Specifies the gateway's operational status.
What is cienaCesInetGatewayOperState?
This object reports the operational status of a management gateway -- selected, disabled, enabled, unavailable, or standby -- which matters because Ciena CES boxes can be configured with both a primary and a backup gateway. An admin checks this to confirm a failover actually happened as expected: seeing standby(5) on the backup gateway means the primary is still doing the forwarding, while selected(1) on the backup confirms a cutover occurred. For example, finding the primary gateway reporting unavailable(4) and the backup reporting selected(1) after a network change confirms the box failed over correctly rather than losing all management reachability.
