An admin seeing this counter climbing steadily for a particular service might investigate whether client devices, like set-top boxes, are slow to respond to queries, possibly due to CPU load on those devices or an excessively short configured response-time window. A high reply-timeout count concentrated around specific time periods, say during known peak usage, could point to congestion-related response delays rather than actual receiver departures.
