Description: The admin status of each interface. A value of: - enabled(1) indicates that this interface is administratively enabled - disabled(2) indicates that this interface is administratively disabled - shutdown(3) indicates a shutdown state of DCN interface
What is cienaCesIpMgmtInterfaceAdminState?
This reports whether the management interface has been administratively enabled, disabled, or put into the special shutdown state used specifically for the DCN (Data Communications Network) interface. The three-way distinction matters because disabled and shutdown may have different implications for how the device's other software reacts to the interface state, so an admin restoring management access after maintenance needs to check exactly which of these three states is set rather than assuming a simple on/off. For example, a value of shutdown(3) on a DCN-type interface indicates a deliberate lockdown state distinct from the ordinary disabled(2) used on other interface types.
