What Is CDX6500-SMI?
CDX6500-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module for the Motorola/Codex CDX 6500 statistical multiplexer, a legacy WAN multiplexing device from the Codex product line. Rather than defining monitorable data objects itself, this module simply establishes the private enterprise OID subtree and node identifiers under which the CDX 6500's actual MIB objects (in companion MIB modules) are registered. It contains no runtime status, performance, or fault objects of its own, so it exposes no hardware or software health telemetry directly. Because it only defines OID arcs, its only dependency is on base SNMPv2-SMI conventions used to construct the tree, and it is meant to be loaded alongside sibling CDX6500 MIB modules that define the actual manageable objects. In practice it functions purely as registration scaffolding for the multiplexer's hardware and channel MIBs. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CDX6500-SMI file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
