What Is CA-NTOS-MIB?
CA-NTOS-MIB is a Computer Associates (CA) proprietary MIB for its NT System Agent, a Windows NT host-monitoring agent that polls and thresholds a broad set of OS-level resources. Configuration groups (ntFileSystemConfig, ntFileConfig, ntProcessConfig, ntServiceConfig, ntPrinterConfig, ntMemoryConfig, ntProcessorConfig, ntRegistryConfig, ntEventLogConfig) each define a poll interval plus default warning/critical thresholds, and expose add/remove objects (e.g. ntFSAdd/ntFSRemove, ntProcAdd/ntProcRemove, ntServiceAdd/ntServiceRemove) for dynamically managing what's being watched. The corresponding status tables report live state: ntFilesystemStTable tracks per-drive capacity, utilization, and free space against configurable percentage/KB thresholds; ntFileStTable tracks individual monitored files for size, size-change rate, and timestamp changes; ntProcessStTable tracks whether specific processes exist and their instance/thread counts; and an overall ntStatus/ntStatusSummary rolls all of these (plus services, printers, memory, CPU, registry, and event logs) up into a single worst-case OK/warning/critical status. This gives an NT/Windows-focused monitoring system a single MIB to watch disk space, process/service health, memory and CPU pressure, and registry or event-log changes without needing host agents beyond CA's own. It depends only on RFC1155-SMI/RFC-1212/RFC1213-MIB conventions typical of mid-1990s SNMP agents, and is deployed on Windows NT servers running the CA AgentWorks NT System Agent; teams still operating this legacy stack searching for the CA-NTOS-MIB download would use it to poll host health status via SNMP.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CA-NTOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An operator polls ntStatus for the overall worst-case health of a monitored NT server and, if it reads warning or critical, drills into ntFilesystemStTable to check ntStatusFSUtilization against ntStatusFSPcntCritical for each monitored drive letter; a drive showing utilization above its critical threshold combined with ntStatus reporting critical would indicate that server is at risk of running out of disk space.
