What Is BTI-TC-MIB?
BTI-TC-MIB is a BTI Systems enterprise MIB that defines textual conventions and shared data types used across BTI's family of optical networking MIB modules. As a textual-conventions module, it exposes no runtime data objects of its own; instead it standardizes syntax such as enumerations and formats that the companion BTI optical transport/networking MIBs use to represent equipment and performance status, which becomes apparent when loading BTI-TC-MIB into a MIB Browser and finding only type definitions rather than pollable tables. Its indirect role in monitoring is significant, since the enumerated types it defines (likely things like operational states, alarm severities, or port/line types) are what let BTI's operational MIBs express hardware and software status - equipment state, alarm conditions, and interface types - in a consistent way across the product line. It is a foundational dependency for other BTI Systems MIB modules covering optical transport chassis, cards, and circuits. It is deployed as a support module alongside BTI Systems' optical networking equipment (DWDM/packet-optical transport platforms) wherever those devices are managed via SNMP.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BTI-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- BTI Systems optical/packet-optical transport equipment
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only TEXTUAL-CONVENTION types shared across BTI Systems MIBs, with no sample tables or scalars of its own to poll directly. The types it defines would be used by companion BTI equipment/alarm MIBs - for example, an equipment-state or alarm-severity enumeration referenced by a *StatusTable's status column. An administrator would monitor those companion MIBs' tables rather than this one to see actual optical equipment or alarm status.
