Category: Quality of Service, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: Manages Quality of Service policies and traffic prioritization on HP BladeSystem Type 2 blade switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is BLADETYPE2-QOS-MIB?

BLADETYPE2-QOS-MIB is a Hewlett Packard proprietary MIB (extending the standard BRIDGE-MIB, built on HP-SWITCH-PL-MIB) configuring QoS on HP BladeSystem 'Type 2' interconnect switch modules. Its objects cover current and pending (new) configuration tables for per-port priority assignment, priority-to-CoS-queue mapping, and CoS-queue weighting, alongside a CoS-queue-count object. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a port's priority mapping and CoS-queue weighting, and stage a pending configuration change before it's applied. It is deployed on HP BladeSystem Type 2 interconnect switch modules. Engineers can download the BLADETYPE2-QOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BLADETYPE2-QOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP BladeSystem Type 2 interconnect switch modules

Monitoring Examples

An administrator stages a change in qosNewCfgPortPriority to verify a planned QoS re-mapping before committing it, comparing against the live qosCurCfgPortPriority values on an HP BladeSystem interconnect module.

What Can Be Monitored
