Category: Network Interfaces, Vendor: Avaya
Description: Extends standard interface management objects with Avaya/Nortel ERS-specific port configuration and statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is BAY-STACK-IF-EXT-MIB?
BAY-STACK-IF-EXT-MIB is an Avaya (Bay Networks/Nortel BayStack heritage, built on SYNOPTICS-ROOT-MIB) proprietary MIB adding a directed-broadcast setting to the standard interface table. Its objects cover a global directed-broadcast flag and a per-interface table (ifIndex, directed-broadcast setting). As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm whether directed broadcasts are forwarded on a specific interface of an Avaya (BayStack) switch. It is deployed on Avaya (Bay Networks/Nortel) BayStack switching equipment. Engineers can download the BAY-STACK-IF-EXT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BAY-STACK-IF-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Avaya (Bay Networks/Nortel) BayStack switching equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks bsIfExtIfDirectedBroadcast to confirm whether a specific interface forwards directed broadcasts on an Avaya (BayStack) switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-interface directed-broadcast forwarding configuration
