What Is AISLCANALOG-MIB?

AISLCANALOG-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for AI-series Serial Line Card (SLC) modules, managing analog input points such as modem and voice port configuration on those cards. It exposes a table of analog input points with scanning enable/disable, descriptive text, and alarm-related configuration including trap enable, normal/high/low alarm severities and associated state-text messages. Its monitoring focus is on the operational status of analog line/voice ports - whether scanning is active, whether a point is in a high or low alarm condition, and the severity/description of that alarm state - which is effectively a software/configuration-driven view of analog hardware port health. It is a self-contained vendor MIB for the AI-series SLC hardware line, without an apparent dependency on standard IETF MIBs. It is typically deployed on AI-series remote terminal units or access devices with analog serial line cards used for modem or voice-grade analog circuits. Engineers can download the AISLCANALOG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

An operator would walk aiSLCAnalogInputTable/aiSLCAnalogInputEntry via aislcainPointNumber, checking aislcainScanningEnabled to confirm the point is actively monitored and aislcainDescription to identify it. If an analog input crosses a threshold, aislcainHighAlarmSeverity or aislcainLowAlarmSeverity along with aislcainHighAlarmStateText/aislcainLowAlarmStateText would report the alarm condition and its severity, versus aislcainNormalStateText when back in range. A point stuck reporting its high-alarm state text would indicate a persistent analog circuit issue such as an out-of-range modem or voice signal.
