What Is AirPairv2cTrap-MIB?

AirPairv2cTrap-MIB is a DragonWave proprietary module defining SNMPv2c trap notifications for the AirPair family of point-to-point wireless microwave radio systems used in backhaul networking. Its data consists entirely of fault/event notification definitions rather than polled tables, covering events such as cold-start, link-up/link-down state transitions, and peer authentication failures. This module is explicitly for monitoring software and link operational status: it alerts operators in near real time when a radio link drops, a unit restarts, or an authentication handshake with a paired radio fails, which are critical events for maintaining wireless backhaul availability. It builds on the standard SNMPv2 trap/notification framework (SNMPv2-TRAP-MIB conventions) for its notification structure. It is deployed in wireless backhaul networks using DragonWave AirPair microwave radio links, typically monitored by a network management system configured to receive and alert on these traps, with an AirPairv2cTrap-MIB download being the first step in configuring that trap receiver correctly.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AirPairv2cTrap-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • DragonWave AirPair microwave radio system

Monitoring Examples

No runtime data objects were provided for this module since it is trap-only; a network management system would be configured as an SNMPv2c trap receiver for the AirPair radios, and receiving a link-down trap for a given radio interface, or a peer-authentication-failure trap, would immediately alert operators to a microwave backhaul outage or a possible unauthorized/misconfigured peer pairing attempt.

What Can Be Monitored

  • link up/down events
  • cold-start events
  • peer authentication failure events
