What Is AXD301-PCH-MIB?

AXD301-PCH-MIB is a minimal, vendor-specific stub MIB for the Ericsson AXD 301 ATM switch, targeting the packet channel (PCH) interfaces used to map ATM cells to packet-based channels. As a stub it exposes only a narrow set of ATM VPI/VCI (virtual path/channel identifier) objects tied to virtual path and virtual channel links on the switch. It is used to identify and cross-reference ATM circuit addressing associated with a packet channel interface, supporting fault isolation when a circuit misbehaves rather than reporting hardware/software health directly. It depends on and extends the standard ATM-MIB (ATM Forum/IETF) object model for VPL/VCL identification. It would be deployed on Ericsson AXD 301 multiservice ATM switches in carrier or service-provider backbone networks. Engineers can download the AXD301-PCH-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

An engineer cross-references atmVplVpi against a specific PCH interface to confirm which virtual path is mapped to a packet channel, and uses atmVclVpi/atmVclVci together to pinpoint the exact virtual channel link carrying a suspect traffic flow. Because this module is a minimal stub with only VPI/VCI identification objects, it does not itself expose counters or alarms -- it supplements the standard ATM-MIB tables it imports from.
