Description: Defines ATM Forum standard management objects for ATM network interface and connection control.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ATM-MIB-ATMNET?
ATM-MIB-ATMNET is a stub, vendor-neutral module that supplies a single shared textual convention - an ATM interface index type - for use by other ATM Forum/IETF ATM MIB modules; it does not itself define a set of managed data objects. Because it carries no interfaces, environment, performance, or configuration objects of its own, it has no direct role in exposing monitorable data. Consequently it plays no independent part in hardware or software status monitoring; its only function is as a type-definition dependency consumed by real ATM MIBs such as the standard ATM-MIB (RFC 2515). It exists purely to support that standard and related ATM Forum modules that reference the ATM interface index convention. It would be loaded as a supporting definitions module wherever a full ATM MIB stack is deployed on ATM-capable equipment. Engineers implementing or auditing this functionality typically reference the ATM-MIB-ATMNET RFC/standard documentation for the authoritative specification.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATM-MIB-ATMNET. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, not tied to a specific manufacturer
- ATM-capable network equipment (indirectly, via dependent MIBs)
Monitoring Examples
This module is a textual-convention stub only, defining an ATM interface index type consumed by other MIBs; it has no standalone runtime objects, so no realistic polling scenario applies to it directly.
