What Is ATM-OPT-MIB?

ATM-OPT-MIB defines optional ATM interface capabilities and extended configuration beyond the base ATM-MIB standard. The only objects present in the available data, cdx6500PCTStationProtocolGroup and cdx6500PSTStationProtocolGroup, indicate this particular optional module is tied to Cabletron/Cisco CDX 6500 chassis hardware rather than being a generic vendor-neutral extension. Its monitoring value is narrow: it tracks the configured station protocol group for PCT and PST modules in a CDX 6500 chassis, which reveals a mismatch between a module's configured protocol group and the type of station actually attached to it. It builds on the base ATM-MIB (RFC 1695/2515) as an optional supplement rather than a standalone protocol. It is used on legacy Cabletron/Cisco CDX 6000-series ATM switching hardware. Engineers can download the ATM-OPT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
