All MIBs › ATEN-PRODUCTS-PUB
Category: Device Management, Vendor: ATEN
Description: Supplies publicly accessible product identification objects for ATEN International hardware device families.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ATEN-PRODUCTS-PUB?
ATEN-PRODUCTS-PUB is ATEN International's public enterprise MIB, used primarily to register sysObjectID values identifying ATEN's product families (such as KVM switches, PDUs, and console/device servers) and to carry a small shared set of email-based alert notification objects. Rather than exposing rich runtime telemetry itself, its data is mostly identification/registration OIDs plus templated alert fields - subject, message body, recipient (to/cc), and log/trap linkage - used when a device fires an event notification. Its monitoring role is therefore indirect: identifying the specific ATEN device model via sysObjectID, and confirming that email alerts for underlying hardware events (e.g., power or environment faults reported by a device-specific ATEN MIB) are correctly formatted and routed. It depends on ATEN's device-specific product MIBs for the actual sensor/status data being alerted on. It is typically deployed alongside ATEN PDU, KVM, or console-server management software for centralized event notification. Engineers can download the ATEN-PRODUCTS-PUB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATEN-PRODUCTS-PUB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ATEN KVM switch
- ATEN PDU / power distribution unit
- ATEN console/device server
Monitoring Examples
Given the sample objects (email, subject, message, to, cc, log, trap) an admin would use this module mainly to verify that outgoing alert emails carry the correct subject and message body and are sent to the intended to/cc recipients when a trap fires, rather than to poll numeric performance counters. The log and trap fields tie a given notification back to the originating event record.
What Can Be Monitored
- email alert subject/message content
- alert recipient list (to/cc)
- trap-to-log linkage for notifications
