What Is ATEN-PRODUCTS-MIB?

ATEN-PRODUCTS-MIB is a vendor enterprise MIB that serves as the product OID registry for ATEN International's KVM switches, PDUs, and remote-access devices, defining the branch structure (public, software, overip, kvm, video, usb) under which specific ATEN product MIBs are registered. As a registry/identity module it does not itself expose runtime monitoring objects but assigns OIDs used to identify product families (KVM-over-IP, video, USB peripherals) so companion product-specific MIBs can report their own status data. Its role in monitoring is indirect — it enables sysObjectID-based device identification but hardware status such as port state or PDU load must come from the associated product-line MIBs. This module is explicitly a dependency for ATEN's other product MIBs, which build their OID trees under it. It is deployed as part of the SNMP framework for ATEN KVM switches and IP-based remote access/power products in data centers and server rooms. Before an ATEN KVM-over-IP switch can be identified correctly in an NMS, the ATEN-PRODUCTS-MIB MIB file must be compiled so that its sysObjectID branches resolve to the appropriate product family.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATEN-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ATEN KN4124V — current 24-port KVM-over-IP switch with local/remote access
  • ATEN CS1924 — current 4-port USB 3.0 4K DisplayPort KVMP desktop switch

Monitoring Examples

This module defines the product OID tree (public, overip, kvm, video, usb) rather than runtime data objects, so no specific monitoring scenario can be given from this module alone. An ATEN KVM-over-IP switch's actual port/session status would be exposed by a product-specific MIB registered under the kvm or overip branch defined here.
