Description: Tracks software feature license keys, activation status, and entitlement details on Allied Telesis network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-LICENSE-MIB?

AT-LICENSE-MIB is an Allied Telesis enterprise MIB for managing software feature licensing on their switches and routers, covering the listing of currently applied licenses, adding new license keys, and removing existing ones. Its data centers on license/entitlement metadata, which optional software features are licensed, their activation state, and related license details, rather than traffic or hardware metrics. As a monitoring tool it is used to confirm the software licensing status of the device: verifying that a required feature license is present and active, catching an expired or missing license that could disable a purchased feature, and auditing what capabilities are currently entitled on the box. No dependency on other MIBs is apparent, consistent with it being a narrowly scoped proprietary licensing module. It is typically deployed across Allied Telesis' AT-x and SBx series switches and routers wherever optional, license-gated software features (such as advanced routing or security modules) are used. Engineers can download the AT-LICENSE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-LICENSE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis switches and routers

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module; consistent with its description, a typical check would involve polling the license table to confirm a given feature license is present and active, where a missing or expired entry would explain why a purchased software feature has stopped functioning on the device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed license keys
  • license activation status
  • licensed feature entitlements
