What Is ASKEY-DSLAM-IP-OVER-ATM-MIB?
ASKEY-DSLAM-IP-OVER-ATM-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for Askey DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) equipment, covering configuration of IP-over-ATM (IPoA/RFC 1483-style) bridging used to carry subscriber IP traffic over ATM virtual circuits. Its central table maps ISP-facing bridging parameters -- ISP name, IP address, MAC address, and VLAN ID -- for each configured IP-over-ATM binding, with row-status control for dynamic provisioning. Monitoring here centers on configuration/provisioning integrity for subscriber-facing IPoA bridges rather than hardware sensors -- verifying that ispIp and ispMac are correctly bound and that ispRowStatus is active is essential to diagnosing subscribers who cannot get IP connectivity through the DSLAM. It depends on underlying ATM interface and bridging conventions on the Askey platform rather than an IETF-standard MIB. It is deployed on Askey DSLAM chassis in telco/ISP access networks provisioning ADSL/ATM-based broadband subscriber lines, and provisioning engineers typically start with an ASKEY-DSLAM-IP-OVER-ATM-MIB download to load the module into their management tools.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASKEY-DSLAM-IP-OVER-ATM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Askey DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexer)
Monitoring Examples
A provisioning engineer troubleshooting a subscriber connectivity issue would check ipoaTable/ipoaEntry for the relevant ispName binding, confirming ispIp and ispMac match the expected gateway/subscriber addressing and that ispVid reflects the correct VLAN. An ispRowStatus that isn't active would explain why IP-over-ATM bridging for that ISP profile isn't functioning, blocking subscriber IP traffic over the ATM virtual circuit.
What Can Be Monitored
- IP-over-ATM binding status
- ISP name/profile configuration
- bound IP and MAC address
- VLAN ID assignment
- binding row status
