What Is ASCEND-MIBDS1ATMNET-MIB?

ASCEND-MIBDS1ATMNET-MIB is an Ascend proprietary MIB for DS1-based (T1) ATM network interfaces, covering circuit configuration and cell-level statistics for ATM-over-DS1 links. It exposes VPI/VCI and framing configuration alongside performance counters for transmitted, received, and errored ATM cells. Its monitoring emphasis is physical- and cell-layer performance/fault detection: DS1 line alarms and error counters plus ATM cell-loss/discard counts reveal a degrading T1 line or misbehaving PVC. It complements IETF standard DS1-MIB and ATM-MIB conventions for the respective layers. It was deployed on Ascend WAN routers/multiplexers using DS1/T1-carried ATM circuits for backbone or service connectivity. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the ASCEND-MIBDS1ATMNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBDS1ATMNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ascend WAN router/multiplexer with DS1/T1 ATM interfaces

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were captured for this module. Based on its purpose, it would expose per-circuit ATM cell counters and DS1 alarm/error counters, which an operator polls to detect rising errored-seconds or cell-discard counts indicating a degrading T1 line or ATM PVC.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DS1 line alarm/error status
  • ATM cell transmit/receive counters
  • errored/discarded cell counts
  • circuit (VPI/VCI) configuration
