Description: Citrix/NetScaler application acceleration SMI structure defining the enterprise OID hierarchy.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is APPACCELERATION-SMI?
APPACCELERATION-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module registering the enterprise OID subtree for Citrix Systems' Application Acceleration product line (associated with Citrix/NetScaler WAN and application acceleration appliances). Like other enterprise SMI root modules, it defines no manageable objects, scalars, or tables of its own -- only the OID namespace under which Citrix's application-acceleration-specific MIBs are organized. It therefore has no direct role in monitoring uptime, throughput, CPU/memory, or other runtime status; that data would be defined in separate Citrix MIB modules built beneath this OID root. Its dependency is purely structural, anchoring related Citrix application-acceleration MIBs to a registered enterprise number. In practice, the APPACCELERATION-SMI MIB is relevant in environments running Citrix/NetScaler application acceleration appliances, encountered by MIB compilers rather than polled directly.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APPACCELERATION-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Citrix NetScaler ADC (2023, firmware 14.1) — current MPX/SDX hardware appliance platform for application acceleration/delivery
Monitoring Examples
This module contains no runtime objects to monitor -- it exists solely to register the enterprise OID root under which Citrix's application acceleration MIB modules are defined. A monitoring tool would poll the specific downstream Citrix MIB (covering acceleration statistics, session counts, etc.) rather than this SMI module itself.
