Category: Web and Application Servers

Description: Defines managed objects for CastleRock SNMPc network management software platform operations and trap management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CASTLEROCK-MIB?

CASTLEROCK-MIB is a Castle Rock Computing (SNMPc network-management software) proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 56) reporting synthetic-poll response-time and availability statistics for common service checks. Its objects cover per-service-type (generic poll, Web, FTP, SMTP, Telnet, and two user-defined checks) last response time in milliseconds, cumulative successful-poll count, failed-poll count, and percent-failed. As a performance MIB it lets an administrator watch service response time and failure rate for standard protocol checks configured in Castle Rock's monitoring software. It is deployed on systems monitored by Castle Rock Computing (SNMPc) network-management software. Engineers can download the CASTLEROCK-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CASTLEROCK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Systems monitored by Castle Rock Computing (SNMPc) software

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors respTime-Web and pctFail-Web to watch web-service availability and latency trends configured via Castle Rock's SNMPc monitoring software.
