What Is APNL-MODULAR-PDU-MIB?

APNL-MODULAR-PDU-MIB is a vendor MIB (AP Nederland, part of the APC/Schneider Electric product family) for modular rack-mount Power Distribution Units used in data center and network equipment racks. It exposes device identification data (product ID, serial number) alongside real-time power metering across the PDU's phases, including active power, reactive power (KVAR), and overall unit status. This is a hardware health and environmental monitoring module: pduStatus reports the operational state of the PDU itself, while per-phase power readings let operators detect overload conditions, phase imbalance, or a failing power feed before it causes an outage. It is a self-contained vendor extension without strong dependency on other IETF MIBs, focused purely on power infrastructure telemetry. It is typically deployed in data center racks to monitor the health and load of the power distribution feeding networking and server equipment. Engineers can download the APNL-MODULAR-PDU-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll pduStatus to confirm overall PDU health, and read pduPower alongside per-phase pduPowerL1, pduPowerL2, and pduPowerL3 to check for load imbalance across circuits. The pduKvar, pduKvarL1, pduKvarL2, and pduKvarL3 objects expose reactive power per phase, useful for detecting inefficient loads. A sudden drop in pduPower on one phase while others remain stable would indicate a tripped breaker or failed input feed on that leg.
