Description: Alvarion products registration MIB defining sysObjectID OIDs for all Alvarion wireless access point hardware models.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ALVARION-PRODUCTS-MIB?
ALVARION-PRODUCTS-MIB is a vendor product-identity MIB from Alvarion that defines the sysObjectID OID assignments for Alvarion's wireless access point and controller hardware models, such as the WI2 CTRL and SR/DR series. It contains no runtime data or counters; it is purely a registration tree mapping model names to unique OIDs so that management systems can identify exactly which Alvarion product a device is by reading its sysObjectID. As such it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status, but it underpins device identification that other monitoring tools use to select the correct MIB set for a given Alvarion device. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise numbering convention rather than any functional MIB. It is used across all Alvarion wireless deployments purely as an identification reference, not an active monitoring target. Engineers can download the ALVARION-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALVARION-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Alvarion wireless access points and controllers (WI2 CTRL/SR/DR series)
Monitoring Examples
This is a pure identification/registration module, not a data-bearing MIB — objects like alvarionWI2CTRL40, alvarionWI2CTRL200, alvarionWI2SR1, and alvarionWI2DR1 are OID leaf assignments used only as sysObjectID values, not polled counters or status. A management platform reads a device's sysObjectID (from the standard SNMPv2-MIB) and matches it against these definitions to determine the specific Alvarion hardware model, which then determines which other Alvarion MIBs apply. There is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe since the module defines no runtime objects.
