Description: The number of Asserts received by this router. Asserts are multicast to all routers on a network. This counter is incremented by all routers that receive an assert, not only those routers that are contesting the assert.
Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, for example when the device is rebooted.
What is alaPimInAsserts?
Counts the total number of PIM Assert messages received by this router since the last reset, including those for which this router was not the contesting party. A high or steadily increasing value may indicate ongoing upstream forwarder conflicts on one or more multi-access network segments.
