Description: Manages software version, upgrade operations, and firmware management on AI-series network access devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AISYSCFGSOFTWARE-MIB?
This MIB module manages software/firmware image inventory and upgrade operations on AI-series network access devices, tracking every software or firmware image, load, or package installed on the box. It exposes a software table where each entry uniquely identifies an image by name, type, version, and creation date, plus objects indicating which image is currently active and the status of an in-progress software update. This is a software status/version-management MIB: administrators use it to confirm which firmware version is currently running, verify a scheduled upgrade succeeded or failed via the update-status object, and audit the full inventory of images stored on the device. It is part of a vendor's proprietary system-configuration MIB tree and typically works alongside file-system or storage MIBs that report available space for new images. It is typically deployed on AI-series network access devices to track firmware compliance and manage remote software upgrades. Engineers can download the AISYSCFGSOFTWARE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AISYSCFGSOFTWARE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- AI-series network access device
Monitoring Examples
An admin polling aiSCSoftwareActive would confirm which image is currently running, while iterating aiSCSoftwareTable and checking aiSCSoftwareName, aiSCSoftwareVersion, and aiSCSoftwareCreationTime for each aiSCSoftwareIndex would produce a full inventory of installed firmware images. During a remote upgrade, watching aiSCSoftwareUpdateName and aiSCSoftwareUpdateStatus would reveal whether the new image transferred and activated successfully or failed partway through.
What Can Be Monitored
- active software image
- software update name and status
- installed image name/type/version
- image creation timestamp
