Description: Manages Serial Line Card (SLC) port configuration and status on AI-series network access concentrators.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AISLC-MIB?
AISLC-MIB is a vendor MIB module for the Smart Line Card (SLC), a serial line interface card used in AI-series network access concentrators/remote access servers. It exposes configuration and operational data for the card's serial ports, including administrative controls, firmware/ROM identification, and feature-selection tables. Administrators use it to monitor hardware and firmware health of the card: firmware version, ROM image ID and build date/time, last configuration timestamp, and alarm-reset state all serve as indicators of whether the card is running expected software and whether it has recently faulted or been reconfigured. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB with no strong stated dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMPv2 conventions. It is typically deployed in dial-up or remote-access concentrator chassis where individual line cards need independent firmware tracking and reset/push administration. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the AISLC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AISLC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- AI-series network access concentrator
- Smart Line Card (SLC) serial interface module
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll aislcFirmwareVersion and aislcRomIdImageId together with aislcRomIdTimeDate to confirm all line cards in a chassis are running the same certified firmware build after a push (aislcAdminPush) and to catch cards that failed to update. aislcAdminStatus and aislcOperBaseport indicate whether a card is administratively enabled and which base port range it serves, while aislcAdminResetAlarm shows whether the card has an outstanding alarm requiring a reset. The aislcRomIdSelFeatTable/aislcRomIdSelFeatTableEntry rows let an admin enumerate which optional ROM features (aislcRomIdSelFeatName) are enabled per card, useful for licensing or capability audits. A stale aislcLastConfigTime combined with an active alarm flag would signal a card that has drifted out of sync with the rest of the chassis.
What Can Be Monitored
- line card admin/oper status
- firmware version
- ROM image ID and build date
- last configuration time
- alarm reset state
- selected ROM features
