Description: Manages remote device monitoring and control capabilities on Accedian MetroNID Ethernet performance devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACD-RDEV-MIB?

ACD-RDEV-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Accedian Networks, Inc. that manages remote device (RDev) pairing and discovery for Accedian's service-assurance NID appliances such as the ANT-Nano and nano2Copper/nano2Optical/ANT2 combo/copper units, referenced through the AcdRDevDeviceTypeType textual convention. Its acdRDevConfigTable models each remote device's identity, MAC address, security key, admin state (AcdRDevConfigAdminStateType), and tunnel parameters (acdRDevConfigTunnelTCPPort, acdRDevConfigTunnelTCPDSCP) used to link the device back to a VCX controller, while acdRDevDiscoveryCfgTable configures Layer-2 or IP Agnostic Discovery (iPAD) sweeps via AcdRDevDiscoveryMethod and AcdRDevDiscoveryRate. A separate acdRDevSecurityKeyMgmt branch schedules periodic SCP-based backups of remote device security keys to an external server. It imports MODULE-IDENTITY/OBJECT-TYPE from SNMPv2-SMI, RowStatus/MacAddress/TruthValue from SNMPv2-TC, and acdMibs from ACCEDIAN-SMI, so it depends on Accedian's enterprise SMI root MIB. Engineers deploying Accedian NID/ANT remote devices can download the ACD-RDEV-MIB download file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACD-RDEV-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Accedian Networks NID/ANT remote devices (ANT-Nano, nano2Copper, nano2Optical, ANT2 combo/copper)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls acdRDevConfigLinked and acdRDevConfigAuthorized for each row in acdRDevConfigTable to confirm a remote NID has successfully paired with the VCX controller, and a device stuck with acdRDevConfigLinked false despite acdRDevConfigAuthorized true would indicate a discovery or tunnel connectivity problem.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Remote device link/authorization status
  • Device discovery configuration and method (Layer-2/iPAD)
  • Tunnel TCP port and DSCP settings
  • Security key backup schedule
  • Active feature suite per remote device
