All MIBs › A3COM-HUAWEI-L2ISOLATE-MIB
Organization: Hangzhou H3C Technologies Co., Ltd.
Last Updated: 2009-05-06
Category: VLAN and Bridging, Vendor: H3C/HH3C
Description: Manages Layer 2 port isolation groups preventing direct communication between isolated ports on H3C switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is A3COM-HUAWEI-L2ISOLATE-MIB?
A3COM-HUAWEI-L2ISOLATE-MIB is an H3C-proprietary MIB that manages Layer 2 port isolation, a feature blocking direct traffic between isolated ports within the same VLAN while still allowing them to reach an uplink. It exposes a per-VLAN isolation-enable table and a permit list of MAC addresses explicitly exempted from isolation. As a configuration/security-policy MIB it is used to audit which VLANs have isolation active and which MAC addresses are allowed to bypass the restriction, rather than to monitor hardware health. It is deployed on H3C access-layer switches in environments needing traffic segregation between hosts on a shared VLAN, such as hosting or dormitory wiring closets. Engineers can download the A3COM-HUAWEI-L2ISOLATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM-HUAWEI-L2ISOLATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C (Huawei-3Com) access-layer switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks h3cL2IsolateEnableTable to confirm isolation is active on a given VLAN, then reviews h3cL2IsolatePermitMACTable for any MAC addresses granted an isolation bypass.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-VLAN isolation enable state
- MAC addresses permitted to bypass isolation
