Description: Defines Zhone Technologies product OID registration hierarchy for device identification and inventory.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZhoneProductRegistrations?

ZhoneProductRegistrations is a Zhone Technologies private enterprise MIB module that defines the OID registration hierarchy used to build sysObjectID values identifying Zhone product types and models (PLS, CPE, MUX, etc.). It contains no runtime monitoring data at all; it is purely a naming/registration tree assigning numeric identifiers to product categories and models under Zhone's enterprise OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504. It has no bearing on hardware/software status monitoring directly; instead its practical monitoring use is indirect, since the sysObjectID value it defines, once read from a device, tells an NMS/inventory system exactly which Zhone product model is running, the first step in matching the right vendor MIB and status objects to that device. It depends entirely on the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise-number/sysObjectID mechanism (RFC 2578) to have meaning, and is referenced by other Zhone product MIBs rather than exposing data itself. It is used across Zhone Technologies broadband access equipment, such as PLS platforms, CPE devices, and MUX systems, purely as an identification/inventory aid during device discovery. Engineers can download the ZhoneProductRegistrations file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZhoneProductRegistrations. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Zhone Technologies broadband access equipment (PLS, CPE, MUX product lines)

Monitoring Examples

This module is a pure OID-assignment/registration tree with no MODULE-IDENTITY runtime objects or tables to poll. It defines identifiers like the "PLS" (X=1), "CPE" (X=2), and "MUX" (X=3) product-type branches and their model sub-branches used to build a device's sysObjectID, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly beyond using the resulting sysObjectID for device-type identification during discovery.
