Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ZXR10-TELNET-MIB?
ZXR10-TELNET-MIB is a ZTE enterprise MIB for the ZXR10 router/switch platform that manages the device's Telnet server configuration, static user accounts, and active session/access control settings. It belongs to the network device management-plane technology area and exposes data such as configured static Telnet users and their privilege levels, along with related access-control settings for the Telnet service. Its monitoring value is in tracking software/management-service status: confirming which local user accounts exist and at what privilege level, watching for unauthorized privilege escalations, and using notification traps to detect Telnet-related security or access events on the device. It is a self-contained ZTE proprietary MIB layered on top of the standard Telnet protocol rather than any specific IETF MIB. Typical deployment context is ZTE ZXR10 series routers and switches in carrier or enterprise networks where Telnet remains enabled for legacy device management. Engineers can download the ZXR10-TELNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-TELNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 series router/switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator walks staticUserTable/staticUserEntry to review staticUserName and staticUserPrivilege for each configured local account, watching for accounts unexpectedly granted elevated staticUserPrivilege. The zxr10TelnetNotifications traps can alert operators to Telnet-related events such as login attempts, letting security teams spot suspicious access patterns on a device that still has Telnet enabled.
What Can Be Monitored
- configured static Telnet user accounts
- user privilege levels
- Telnet access/login notifications
