Module: ZHONE-DISMAN-PING-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZHONE-DISMAN-PING-MIB::zhonePingCtlByPassRouteTable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.4.1.19.1.3.1.20

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Access: read-create

Description: The purpose of this object is to optionally enable bypassing the route table. If enabled, the remote host will bypass the normal routing tables and send directly to a host on an attached network. If the host is not on a directly-attached network, an error is returned. This option can be used to perform the ping operation to a local host through an interface that has no route defined (e.g., after the interface was dropped by routed).

What is zhonePingCtlByPassRouteTable?

When set true, this ping test bypasses the normal routing table and sends probes directly to a host on a directly attached network, failing if the host isn't directly reachable; an admin enables this to ping a local host through an interface whose route was dropped.
