wwpLeosNtpClientMode

Module: WWP-LEOS-NTP-CLIENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): WWP-LEOS-NTP-CLIENT-MIB::wwpLeosNtpClientMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.18.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to 'broadcast' will cause the client not to poll the NTP server at all. Instead, it will wait for configured NTP servers to broadcast their current time. When the client receives the first message, it will retrieve a reliable time from that server. If it is set to polling then device will poll the NTP server.

What is wwpLeosNtpClientMode?

Selects whether the NTP client polls servers (polling(1)) or passively listens for time broadcasts (broadcast(2)); in broadcast mode the client never polls and instead waits for a configured server to announce its time, taking the first reliable message it receives. Admins pick broadcast mode on networks where a designated time source periodically broadcasts NTP rather than each client polling individually.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> WWP-LEOS-NTP-CLIENT-MIB::wwpLeosNtpClientMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.18.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> WWP-LEOS-NTP-CLIENT-MIB::wwpLeosNtpClientMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6141.2.60.18.1.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> wwpLeosNtpClientMode.1
