Module: WS-INFRA-SYSMSG-MIB

OID (symbolic): WS-INFRA-SYSMSG-MIB::wsInfraSysMsgAggTime

Description: If multiple messages of the same type are received in sysMsgAggTime second, only the first message will be sent followed by another message saying how many times it was repeated. The follow-up message mechanism will not be implemented in case of Snmp traps.

0 means this feature is disabled.

What is wsInfraSysMsgAggTime?

This value, in seconds, sets the window during which repeated identical messages are aggregated into a single message plus a repeat count, rather than being logged individually each time, with 0 disabling aggregation. Admins raise this to reduce log noise from a flapping condition generating the same message repeatedly. For example, setting wsInfraSysMsgAggTime to 30 means if the same warning fires five times within 30 seconds, only the first message is logged immediately, followed by a note that it repeated four more times.
