What Is WRI-DEVICE-MIB?

WRI-DEVICE-MIB is a FiberHome Networks module defining device-level inventory and hardware status objects for network element management, complementing the vendor's CPU-specific MIB with broader chassis/hardware information. It exposes hardware inventory data (such as installed modules/boards) and their operational or fault status. This is fundamentally a hardware health MIB: it is used to confirm that expected hardware modules are present and functioning, surfacing hardware faults at the device/module level. No specific dependency on other MIBs is apparent from the available metadata, though it would typically be used alongside WRI-CPU-MIB and other FiberHome performance MIBs. It is deployed on FiberHome transport/access network elements for hardware inventory tracking and fault detection. Engineers can download the WRI-DEVICE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WRI-DEVICE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hardware/module inventory
  • module operational status
  • hardware fault indicators

Supported Devices

  • FiberHome Networks transport/access device

Monitoring Examples

No sample object or table names or module description text were available for this module, so specific identifiers cannot be cited; an administrator would typically poll hardware inventory and status objects to detect a missing or faulted module/board in the chassis. Without a verified object list, further technical detail would be speculative rather than grounded in the MIB.
