Category: Witness Systems Call Recording
Description: Defines SNMPv1 trap notifications for Witness Systems call recording and workforce management platform events.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WITS-TRAP-MIBv1?
WITS-TRAP-MIBv1 is a vendor MIB from Witness Systems (a call-recording and workforce management/quality-monitoring platform, later part of Verint) defining SNMPv1 trap notifications for its recording and workforce management servers. As a traps-only MIB, it does not expose polled configuration or statistics tables, only the notification events the platform's software emits. For hardware/software status monitoring, its role is entirely event-driven software-status reporting: it would notify on application-level fault conditions in the recording/workforce management service (e.g., a recording channel or service failing) rather than low-level hardware sensors. It depends on the SNMPv1 trap conventions and would typically be paired with the host's OS-level or hardware MIBs (e.g., HOST-RESOURCES-MIB) for full system health, since it covers only application-layer events. It is deployed in contact-center environments where Witness Systems software records and monitors agent interactions. Engineers can download the WITS-TRAP-MIBv1 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WITS-TRAP-MIBv1. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Witness Systems call recording / workforce management server
Monitoring Examples
Only the top-level witsTraps object was available in the source material, so specific trap names cannot be cited; a realistic use would be a network management station subscribed to witsTraps-derived notifications to be alerted when the Witness Systems recording or workforce management service encounters an application fault, such as a failed recording session, prompting investigation of the call-recording server's software state.
What Can Be Monitored
- recording/workforce management service fault events
