Description: Manages NETGEAR WAG302 wireless access point settings, security parameters, client associations, and traffic statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WAG302?

WAG302 is a vendor-specific MIB for the NETGEAR ProSafe WAG302 802.11a/b/g wireless access point, part of NETGEAR's wireless enterprise product line (registered under the netgear.wireless.wag302 enterprise OID). It exposes management objects for wireless configuration (SSID, radio/security settings), associated wireless client information, and traffic statistics for the AP's wired and wireless interfaces. From a monitoring standpoint it is used to track the operational status of the AP's radios, the count of currently associated clients, and interface traffic counters, giving visibility into whether the access point is up, how loaded it is, and whether its security configuration matches policy. As an 802.11-based device MIB it likely complements standard IETF interface MIBs (IF-MIB) for basic interface counters while adding wireless-specific objects on top. It is deployed by network administrators managing small-to-midsize business wireless LANs built on NETGEAR ProSafe access points. Engineers can download the WAG302 file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WAG302. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NETGEAR ProSafe WAG302 wireless access point

Monitoring Examples

No object/table names were supplied in the sample data for this MIB, so specific OIDs cannot be cited; however, based on the vendor description an admin would typically poll client-association objects to see how many wireless stations are currently connected to the WAG302, and traffic counters on its wireless interface to gauge throughput and detect congestion. Security-configuration objects would let an operator verify that WEP/WPA settings match policy. Because sample_objects is empty for this module, any specific table/object names would need to be confirmed directly against the MIB source rather than inferred here.

What Can Be Monitored

  • wireless interface traffic statistics
