Category: VPN and Tunneling

Description: Manages VPMT optical transport parameters, monitoring signal quality and configuration of optical multiplexing equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is VPMT-OPT-MIB?

VPMT-OPT-MIB is a private MIB (enterprise OID 449, Cisco cdx6500 product family) configuring VPMT (Virtual Path Multiplexing/Timeslot) DS0 cross-connect mapping. Its configuration table, keyed by entry number, records VP type/number, DSL number, DS0 rate, source/destination timeslot, local dial number, sub-address, call permission, CCS-bypass connection count, and physical port. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a VPMT entry's source-to-destination timeslot mapping and call-permission setting. It is deployed on cdx6500-family access equipment. Engineers can download the VPMT-OPT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in VPMT-OPT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • cdx6500-family access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cdx6500VPMTCfgsrcTimeSlot and destTimeSlot to confirm a VPMT entry's DS0 cross-connect mapping matches the intended circuit provisioning on cdx6500-family equipment.

What Can Be Monitored
